Navy Veteran Brews Up Community and Creativity at Shuga Beanz Coffee

There’s a coffee shop in Pace, Florida, that’s as full of personality as it is flavor. Shuga Beanz has been a local favorite for eight years — serving everything from traditional coffees and lattes to Italian sodas, yogurt parfaits, and their signature “Shuga Blasters,” custom dessert drinks that have become a local legend.

The business was founded by Mark Cole, a former Petty Officer in the US Navy and a veteran whose time at NAS Whiting Field and strong community roots helped build a loyal customer base from day one. What began as a simple idea — to bring quality coffee and creative drinks to a market lacking both — has grown into one of Pace’s most beloved gathering spots.

Now celebrating its eighth anniversary, Shuga Beanz stands out in a crowded beverage market by offering the widest range of sugar-free options in the area, catering to health-conscious customers while still delighting those with a sweet tooth. From boba teas and lemonades to acai bowls, every item is crafted to balance convenience, flavor, and local flair.

Running a small business hasn’t been without its challenges. Navigating permits and food safety licensing took time and patience, but the team’s persistence paid off. Shuga Beanz is proudly operating in Pace and is in no hurry to expand, choosing instead to focus on quality over quantity.
